The amounts in the table are intended as guidelines only. The food intake should be adjusted according to the age, weight and activity of your dog. It is important for your dog's health to maintain a proper body weight. Consult a veterinarian for specific weight recommendations. Puppies, and Pregnant or Nursing Females, require 2 – 3 times the Adult amounts. A reduction in food intake is recommended for less active and older dogs. Serve at room temperature. Any unused portion should be covered and refrigerated. Fresh clean water should be available at all times!
When switching your pet's diet, we recommend transitioning from the current diet to any new Natural Balance Formula over a 5 – 7 day period.
Day 1 – 2: 25% Natural Balance Formula, 75% Current Pet Formula
Day 3 – 4: 50% Natural Balance Formula, 50% Current Pet Formula
Day 5 – 6: 75% Natural Balance Formula, 25% Current Pet Formula
Day 7: 100% Natural Balance Formula
If you do not have any of your current formula to mix, reduce the amount of formula fed for the first few days, feeding smaller more frequent meals over time. If your pet is more sensitive to change, please allow 10 – 14 days to fully transition onto the new formula.
FAQ
Feeding formulas with limited ingredients is a great way to minimize their exposure to ingredients. Limited ingredient formulas have a restricted number of protein and carbohydrate sources.
Food trials on a limited ingredient diet should take place over at least 12 weeks using a novel protein and carbohydrate source that the pet has not had before. No other treats or food items should be fed during these first twelve weeks.
Pets that can benefit from a limited ingredient diet should not have unsupervised access to human foods, garbage, or outdoor areas where they can ingest plants.
